Memorable Experience - 'Bright Lights, Big City' Topic

Today Year One had a tea party with a special guest...The Queen! They received a special invitation from her earlier this week asking them to come to school dressed in their smartest clothes.

In the morning children followed instructions to make cucumber sandwiches and then each made their own to eat at the party in the afternoon. We had scones and cakes too! Everyone enjoyed eating the party food and playing a game of ‘Pin the tail on the corgi!’

The Queen arrived and walked down the red carpet with children waving union jack flags they had coloured. She came into the classroom with her lady-in-waiting and children bowed or curtseyed to her. We gave her a present and a card as it was actually her 91st birthday today.

Have a look in the Gallery Section for photographs of the day. smiley
Have a look at the ‘Gallery’ section of the school website later tonight for some photographs of the day.

The Queen told me afterwards how impressed she was with the children from Python Hill and how well behaved they were.

What have we done in the first week of term?

We use 'Class Dojo' in school.  This is a reward system where children get 'points' for doing good things in school and demonstrating positive behaviour.  We also post photographs on our 'Class Story' and these instantly come up on your mobile phone or device once you are registered.  If you haven't yet registered, please see either Mrs. Wallis or Mrs. French for a letter with a joining code.  no
