Today, the children (in 5/6 CW) have been learning about the Islamic place of worship- The Mosque.
The children spent the day learning about the Islamic religion, talking about their values and how this effects how they act in the Mosque. The children were able to look at some of the things that they might find in a Mosque, such as a prayer mat, The Qur'an and prayer beads. We discussed these items and why they were important. The children designed their own prayer mats, considering symbols and religious beleifs. Moreover, the children took a virtual tour around a Mosque and then was asked to label the important parts of a Mosque. Finally, in the afternoon, the children created Mosque Silhouette pictures! Have a look below at what we got up to!
